It’s always a pleasure to have a group of friends who are foodies and like keep up on the best and newest places to try in town! Recently, on our way to visit to the wine country, these friends took me out for a nice cup a tea and nibble of delicious pumpkin bread to a new and interesting place with great interior design. KitchenTown is part café, and part professional kitchen. Located in San Mateo, California, it’s a modern, chic shop with contemporary furniture and a great ambiance. I was not only delighted with the delicious teas and cakes they served but with the refreshing atmosphere and urban vibe
KitchenTown is decorated beautifully and has terrific interior design. Soothing blue and green walls welcome you to gaze upon shelves full of delightful salsas, marinades, cookies and more! All the treats are made right on the premises. They put thought into the packaging and the boxes sit gracefully on the shelves in vibrant rows.
Contemporary tables and chairs allow you to partake of your goodies while peering through the glass wall that lines the shop from floor to ceiling and overlooks the professional kitchen. It is a fantastic experience to watch the talented chefs make their special concoctions.
I especially love the sultry gray etching of a cloudy sky and mysterious forest on the far wall. Juxtaposed with the raw concrete floors and clean lines of the café, it draws you into the enchanted forest and takes you away to a distant land.
Every time I’m at Kitchen Town I experience a new visual and tasteful delight. Next time you’re in San Mateo, make sure to visit KitchenTown to get a taste of their wonderful drinks and sharp but casual interior design.
