This weekend, I had the pleasure of viewing the awe-inspiring interior design at the opening night for the San Francisco Decorator Showcase. I have to say, this is one of the most fun parties to attend! As you know, I went through the process of bidding for a room earlier this year and while I wasn’t selected, I was lucky enough to see the wonderful designs that were made in the house by other designers on opening night.
I love attending this event because it is so exciting to see friends and colleagues in an atmosphere of festivity and creativity, and to view the sensational rooms the designers have created! While I enjoyed previous years’ creations, this year topped them all. The house had good bones to begin with, providing a wide open slate for creativity, and the selected designers have taken it to the next level.
Since the property was not up for sale, as it has been many years in the past, the homeowners were very involved in the process and the result was a much more cohesive look for the home. The rooms had a common theme which was the undertone of the whole project: Hollywood glamour.
Great photography and graphic wallpaper stood out as focal points for many of the rooms. I loved going between each space and chatting with the designers about their inspiration; I enjoyed hearing their unique design process. It’s always great to learn what went well and what elements of the space presented challenges.
Do you plan to visit the SF Decorator Showcase this year? I’d love to hear what you think of its interior design in the comments below.
