My husband and I moved to Pacific Grove, CA about a year ago from the San Francisco Bay Area. I had visited the Monterey Peninsula and Carmel area many times over the years for long weekend vacations, yet I was still a tourist.
Now that I live in the area and have my business in Carmel, I am slowly getting to explore the many wonderful stores, museums, historical sites and cultural events, discovering things off the beaten path of the tourist and loving the hidden gems the area has to offer.
With this change in my local, I decided it was time to shift the focus of my blog. I want the information and finds I discover to be useful to those living here as well as those coming for a visit. I want to share with readers and clients the many levels of stylish living that Carmel, Pacific Grove and the Monterey Peninsula have to offer.
Carmel Shopping - GBG
Carmel sometimes get a bad rap as being a bit touristy. Thankfully the city has retained much of its charm and customs that keep it unique, low-key and historic. The powers that be have kept it from tipping over into a tourist trap.
For this first post on Carmel I want to share a women's fashion store that can hold its own with rival fashion stores in the SF Bay Area. It is called GBG which stand for Girl Boy Girl. Before I moved to the area I always stopped at GBG to check out their amazingly stylish array of fashion options. I love that the locals shop here, the staff is super friendly, they have great service and offer an amazing selection. I love the displays and their witty, casual yet sophisticated vibe. Located at the corner of Mission and 7th, you can't miss it.
Girly chandeliers, glass cases displaying lovely jewelry, shoes from casual to fancy, GBG is a great spot to find the perfect dress for a dinner out or a special event. They don't have a website but do have an instagram account if you want to follow their latest selections. Their account is GirlBoyGirlBoutiqueCarmel. Check them out!
